Former Haryana Prime Minister Om Prakash Chautala dies
Former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala passed away on December 20. He died at the age of 89 at Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon. The body of INLD supremo Teja Kheda has been brought. The death of senior leader Chautala has triggered a wave of condolences in Haryana and the country’s political circles. Three days of state-wide mourning have been declared, with a state-wide holiday on December 21.
The mortal remains of former chief minister Om Prakash Chautala will be kept for darshan from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm and his last rites will be performed after 3:00 pm.
Declared 3 days of national mourning
Om Prakash Chautala, a big shot in Haryana politics, was admitted to the hospital at 11:30 am when his health deteriorated and he died after 12:00. Om Prakash Chautala has served as MLA seven times and CM five times.

According to an official order issued by the Haryana government, the funeral of the former chief minister will be held on December 21 with state honors. No government entertainment programs will be held in the state before December 20-22. All schools in Haryana will be closed on December 21.
Prime Minister Modi expresses sorrow
Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted a photo with Om Prakash Chautala to express his condolences on his death. Prime Minister Modi said, I am deeply saddened by the death of former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala Ji. He has been active in national politics for many years and has continuously worked to advance the work of Chaudhry Devi Lalji. My deepest condolences go out to his family and supporters at this time of mourning.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also expressed grief. He said on social media that I had the highest respect for him and my deepest condolences to his family and supporters.
