Om Prakash Chautala, former chief minister of Haryana and supreme leader of the National People’s Movement of India, passed away. He died at the age of 89 at Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon. It is understood that he has been ill for a long time. Chautala was taken to the hospital at 11:30 am and died after 12:00. Om Prakash Chautala is one of the most influential leaders of Haryana. He served as the chief minister of the state four times. Chautala became chief minister for the first time on December 2, 1989 and served for 171 days. Thereafter, he became chief minister again on July 12, 1990, but this time his term was only five days. Thereafter, on March 22, 1991, he took over as chief minister for the third time, but his term only lasted 15 days. On July 24, 1999, he was sworn in as chief minister for the fourth time, this time until March 2005.
