A round of accusations is being made after a scuffle broke out between ruling and opposition lawmakers inside the parliament building. The BJP blamed Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for the incident. Meanwhile, Congress president Mallikarjun Haq said Prime Minister Modi made the BJP MPs armed with sticks and placards and asked them to push to stop the Indian Union MPs.
“After seriously insulting Dr. Ambedkar, PM Modi also asked us to disrespect the dignity of Parliament,” Haq wrote on of peaceful protest. That way his ill will towards Dr Ambedkar, Parliament, the Constitution and democracy would not be exposed. But we will stand firm and will not tolerate condemnatory remarks against Ambedkar. People across the country will strongly oppose the BJP-RSS.

What else does Hager accuse?
Mallikarjun Kharge wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla claiming that the PPP MP pushed him near the Makkar Gate of Parliament House, causing him to lose his balance and be forced to sit on the ground. He also urged an investigation into the matter as it was an attack not only on him but also on the Leader of the Opposition in the House of Commons and the President of the Congress Party.
In his letter to Birla, Haq said, “This morning, members of Parliament from all the constituent parties of the Indian Union marched from Dr. Ambedkar’s statue in Prenarsthar to Makadwar.” The march was In protest against the derogatory remarks made against Ambedkar in the speech delivered by the Union Home Minister in the Union House on December 17, 2024. When I arrived in Makadua along with opposition MPs, the BJP MP pushed me. I lost my balance and was forced to sit on the ground in front of Makha Deva.
He said it caused an injury to my knee, which I have had surgery on. He said, I urge you to order an investigation into this incident. This is not only an attack on me, but also an attack on the Leader of the Opposition in the Federal House and the Chairman of the Congress Party.
BJP’s complaint against Rahul
Meanwhile, the BJP blamed Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for the entire incident. She also filed an FIR against Rahul. BJP MP Pratap Sarangi and LDF MP Mukesh Rajput were injured in the melee. Both have been hospitalized. Pratap Sarangi said he fell on the ground because of Rahul Gandhi. His eyes were hurt.
