The BJP has taken major action in Punjab, with leaders such as former cabinet minister Bhagat Chunni Lal expelled from the party.

The Punjab PPP has taken major action against many of its leaders. More than a dozen leaders, including a former cabinet minister, were expelled from the party for six years for anti-party activities. Bhagat Chunni Lal was also among the leaders who were directed to quit the party. He served as a cabinet minister in the Punjab government.

Major action taken against Satkar in October

In early October, the BJP took major action against former MP Satkar Kaur. The party has expelled Satkar Kaul from the party for six years. The move by the BJP came after the Punjab police arrested Satkar in a drugs case. Satkar left Congress in 2022 and joined the BJP. She was elected as a provincial councilor in the parliamentary elections.

On October 23, the Punjab police caught Satkar Kaul while smuggling drugs. In this case, an FIR was registered at Mohali Anti-Narcotics Task Force police station. Not only that, the former congressman’s residence was also searched after his arrest. During the operation, 28 grams of chitta and money were recovered from the house.
