Beirut: The leader of the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah says Bashar al-Assad in Syria may find other ways to carry weapons after his main supply lines were cut off following the collapse of his regime. Hezbollah is Assad’s main backer and has sent thousands of fighters to Syria over the past decade. For decades, Hezbollah has relied on Syria as a conduit to import weapons from Iran.

In his first public comments since the fall of Bashar al-Assad, Hezbollah leader Naeem Qasim said the group’s military supply lines through Syria had been severed. The Hezbollah leader said new authorities there could restore the route, “or we can find other ways.”
