Telangana children to eat mutton in schools
The Telangana government has taken strict measures to improve the conditions in welfare hotels and gurukuls in the state. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and other ministers visited the hostel, interacted with the students and had meals together. The government’s goal is to provide students with not only nutritious food, but also delicious food.
Under the changes to the current meal plan, students will eat lamb twice and chicken four times a month. On other days, options like egg, sambar, curd and vegetarian curry will be available. This is the first time lamb has been added to the menu. The chief minister inspected the social welfare residential school in Chilkul in Rangareddy district and directed implementation of a uniform meal plan in all hostels in the state. He heard from students about their problems and said the government was working hard to prepare students for a better future.
Will lead Gurukul forward
CM Revanth Reddy said the Gurukul’s influence has diminished with the advent of private schools but the government is committed to strengthening the Gurukul again. He pointed out that the previous government did not increase the food fees in dormitories. After the Congress government came to power, it expanded its size and ensured better facilities for students.
BRS takes aim
Taking a dig at the Congress government, BRS leader KTR said the Congress party only focuses on photo clicks, while BRS emphasizes on providing nutritious food and quality education to students. He said this was not a visit to Gurukul but an investment in the future of the students. This initiative by the Telangana government sets an example for improving education and hostel facilities. The government believes that providing better nutrition and facilities to students will play an important role in the development of the country.
