Recently, the Assam Civil Service Commission announced the results of the National Civil Service Examination (APSC) and Deeksha Sarkar, the daughter of an Anganwadi worker, secured the 8th position. Diksha faced many difficulties in life but with her hard work and dedication she achieved great success.
Diksha’s life was full of struggles from the beginning. When her mother, Baby Sarkar, gave birth to Deeksha, her parents-in-law refused to accept her because they were expecting a son. After Diksha was born, when her parents-in-law knew it was a daughter, they refused to see the newborn baby.
Raising daughter in a rented house
Baby Sarkar and her one-month-old daughter had to leave their husband and family and take refuge in a small rented house in Sribhumi, near the Bangladesh border. However, Baby Sarkar did not give up and gave her daughter all possible support to move forward on her journey in life.
I owe all my success to my mother
Diksha owes all her success to her mother, Baby Sarkar, who decided to send her daughter out of the state for higher education but was unable to do so due to financial conditions. Despite this, Diksha completed her studies in Guwahati and turned her struggles into success.
Talking about her success, Deeksha said, “Initially I got admitted to Karimganj College, but then someone suggested me to study in Guwahati. I got admitted to Cotton University and Pragjotish College and completed my studies against all odds. “

When news of Diksha’s success spread, her father’s family tried to reconcile. However, Diksha’s mother did not accept any of his suggestions. Deeksha said family no longer matters to her because her success and struggles are her true identity. Deeksha expressed gratitude to her mother’s sister, who helped her financially with her studies.
