The Indian cricket team sealed their spot in the semi-finals with a stellar performance. India took on UAE in the Under-19 Asia Cup 2024 today and India registered a brilliant win in an almost one-sided match. Now India’s place in the semi-finals has been confirmed. The Indian team currently has 4 points after winning two consecutive games. The UAE simply could not stand up against India and failed to create anything spectacular.
UAE batted first in the match
Today UAE captain Ian Khan won the toss and decided to bat first, but the captain’s decision proved to be wrong. The team’s first wicket fell for the fifth wicket as Aryan Saxena returned to the pavilion after scoring just 9 runs. After that, the UAE seemed unable to challenge India. The team’s top scorer was Ryan Khan, who scored 35 points off 48 balls in the innings. He was the only batsman to score six runs in the innings.
India tied the score instantly
The UAE batted just 44 balls and the entire team was out. The team scored 137 points and challenged the Indian team to 138 points. The target looked very small in front of the Indian batsmen. India’s openers Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatt played brilliant batting as soon as they arrived, taking the team’s score to 50 in a short period of time. When the 12th inning was still going on, the team’s score had exceeded 100 points. Victory is very close now. Even after this, the two continued to bat well together.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre score half-centuries
India won the match by 138 runs without losing any wicket in 16.1 overs and also picked up two runs. For India, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre completed their respective half-centuries. Vaibhav Suryavanshi had a strong innings of 77 runs off 46 balls and Ayush Mhatre had a strong innings of 67 runs off 51 balls. Vaibhav Suryavanshi got a lot of attention as he was acquired by Rajasthan Royals for over Rs 1 Crore in the recent IPL auction. In the first two games, he had no runs off the bat, but today he hit a string of fours and sixes.
