December 2, 2024: The Kannada film industry is mourning the death of actress Shobitha Shivanna, who was found dead at her residence in Kondapur, Hyderabad. Initial reports suggest that the actress allegedly committed suicide, but the exact cause of her tragic death remains unclear. Police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances of her death.
According to a statement provided to ANI by the authorities, Shivaanna’s body was found in her apartment within the jurisdiction of Gachibowli police station. Her body has been sent to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem.
Promising career cut short
Shobitha Shivanna is best known for her work in Kannada films and television, starring in several notable films including Eradodra Moru, ATM machine: attempted murder, and Vandana. She also had a strong presence on the small screen, appearing in films such as galipatta, Mangala Gauri, Krishna Rukmini, and Brahma.
Born in Bangalore on September 23, 1992, Shobitha showed interest in art and entertainment from an early age. She was educated at Baldwin Girls High School and later did a degree in Fashion Design from NIFT, Bangalore.
Shobitha made her debut in 2015 with the critically acclaimed Kannada film heaven and earth She went on to play major roles in hit films such as Turn around, KGF: Chapter 1, and KGF: Chapter 2, cementing her reputation as a versatile actress.
