Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Former Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal attacked the central government over the deteriorating law and order situation in the national capital. On Sunday, Kejriwal also visited the car showroom in Delhi’s Tilak Nagar, where an extortion shooting incident came to light in June. Thereafter, the former chief minister also met the victim’s family. Afterwards, we also arrived at Singla Sweets Shop, where two bikers opened fire a few months ago.
Kejriwal said, We are now standing in front of Singla Sweets, which is a very busy market. Just a few months ago, two bikers came to Singla Candy Shop and opened fire. A few days before the shootout, a ransom of Rs 2 crore was demanded. After the shootout, a call comes again threatening that anything could happen to you. Such shootouts have become common in Delhi. I went to Nagloi and there was a shooting there too.
Kejriwal said – 160 ransom calls have been received
The former chief minister of Delhi said the police had received 160 extortion calls this year. Many people do not tell and receive services because they are afraid. We have never seen Delhi like this. We are a peace-loving people. Want to live peacefully. Some are moving operations to other states.
Kejriwal said the gangsters were taking advantage of children aged 17-17. On the other hand, unemployment is spreading and unemployed children are taking up such jobs. I want to tell Union Home Minister Amit Shah that we don’t want politics. Do any job you want.
The attack also followed the arrest of Naresh Baliyan.
Talking about the arrest of the AAP leader, Kejriwal said that Naresh Balyan received 35-40 threatening calls and he complained to the police. The victim, a provincial councilor, has been arrested. What message is this conveying? If you are threatened and file a complaint, you will be arrested. We must provide protection for those who are suffering.
