Indian badminton star PV Sindhu has confirmed her berth in the finals after a one-sided performance so far in the Syed Modi International Super 300 Badminton Championships. In the women’s singles semi-finals, Sindhu defeated compatriot Unati Hooda in two consecutive sets to seal her place in the championship match. In the 36-minute match, Sindhu won the first set 21-12 and the second set 21-9.
Unnat couldn’t resist Sindhu’s brilliant game
In the women’s singles semifinals, Sindhu was completely dominant. She did not give Unati any chance to come back in the two sets. Unati made a lot of mistakes under pressure during this period and Sindhu made the most of the opportunity to win both sets with a huge lead. Sindhu was very happy with her victory and said after the game that she was very satisfied with her performance. I also tried to hit some correct shots. I think Unati did her best, but I didn’t give her any chance. I stayed on top from start to finish. Now I have to concentrate on preparing for tomorrow’s final because it won’t be an easy game.
The final will compete with Chinese or Thai players
Although PV Sindhu has confirmed her place in the women’s singles final, she will face the winner of the second semi-final between Thailand’s Lalinrat Chaiwan and China’s Luo Yu Wu here. In addition to Sindhu, in the mixed doubles event, the Indian combination Tanisha Krastoo/Dhruv Kapila defeated the Chinese combination Xie Hongzhou/Jia Yiyang in the semi-finals to lock in the championship.
