What reasons did Mallikarjun Kharge give for Maharashtra’s defeat? Rahul Gandhi is also full of gestures

Congress is reviewing the failures in Maharashtra and Haryana. A meeting of the Congress Working Committee was held today where party president Mallikarjun Haq spoke candidly to the Congress leaders. Haq said other parties of the Indian Union performed well in the elections wherever they were held. Governments with allies were also formed in Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand, but the Congress party did not perform as expected. Haq said that when the Congress party’s performance in the Lok Sabha elections could have been better, then there was a need to wonder why the Congress’s condition worsened in the assembly elections five months later.

Did infighting kill Congress?

Hager said the reality was that factionalism within the party and conflicting rhetoric from leaders hurt the election. He said the environment in Haryana and Maharashtra was conducive to the Congress but it should be considered why the Congress could not take advantage of the environment. However, the issue of EVM was also included in the resolution passed by the working committee of the conference.

Congress will launch nationwide movement

After this, Congress general secretary KC Venugopal also said that Congress will analyze the failure in Haryana and Maharashtra. But at the same time, it would set off a nationwide movement calling for ballot access.

Ajay Maken held responsible for Haryana’s defeat

In today’s meeting, Ajay Maken admitted responsibility for Haryana’s defeat. He said it was a mistake for him, as chairman of the screening committee, to offer tickets to sitting MLAs because most of the sitting MLAs lost the election.

After this, Mallikarjun Kharge said something big. He also wrapped Rahul Gandhi in a gesture and said it is okay to raise issues like caste census, constitution, social justice etc. but that does not mean we should forget local issues in electoral states. Elections cannot be based on national leaders and national issues, local leaders must be at the forefront.
