ED officer Ankit Tiwari from SC gets relief, relaxation in bail conditions will remain unchanged, knows what the whole thing is about

The Supreme Court on Friday upheld the bail relief of Enforcement Directorate (ED) officer Ankit Tiwari. The court upheld the relaxation of Ankit Tiwari’s bail conditions. Education Department official Ankit Tiwari has been accused of accepting bribes in Tamil Nadu. Ankit Tiwari was arrested in connection with the case in December last year.

Meanwhile, ED officials have approached the Supreme Court after their bail plea was rejected by the Madras High Court. Ankit Tiwari got bail from the Supreme Court in March this year. Among them, the court relaxed the bail conditions of Ankit Tiwari. Ankit was allowed to appear in court through video conferencing. At the same time, the court also upheld the original verdict.

Move to SC to relax bail conditions

Education Department official Ankit Tiwari is a resident of Madhya Pradesh. In such circumstances, the court allowed him to appear before a Tamil Nadu court through video conferencing. In the last hearing, the Supreme Court allowed Ankit Tiwari to travel from Tamil Nadu to Madhya Pradesh. In early March, the Supreme Court imposed a condition that Ankit should not leave Tamil Nadu while on bail.

Meanwhile, Ankit Tiwari once again approached the Supreme Court seeking relaxation in bail conditions. The court imposed many restrictions on Ankit. For example, Tiwari is prohibited from contacting any witnesses related to the case. Also, one is not allowed to leave Tamil Nadu without permission. Along with this, Ankit was also asked to submit his passport.

DVAC arrested last year

In December last year, the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) arrested ED officer Ankit Tiwari. The ED officer was accused of allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20 lakh from a Tamil Nadu government employee. Meanwhile, the court upheld the exemption of interim relief granted to Ankit.
