PTI protests in Pakistan killed 4 people and injured more than 50 before they came to an end

Islamabad: In Pakistan, four people died before jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party PTI called off protests. At the same time, more than 50 people were injured. Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party earlier claimed that hundreds of people were killed in violent clashes with security personnel. Amid concerns over the whereabouts of Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, who led the march to Islamabad, the party said they were both in Khyber – Mansehra town near Abbottabad in Pakhtunkhwa province. Authorities have started reopening roads and clearing sites where vandalism occurred during the three-day PTI protest.

Protesters evacuate the area

Khan’s supporters had to evacuate the capital D-Chowk and surrounding areas after a midnight crackdown. PTI called the crackdown a “genocide” under “fascist military rule”, while police sources said around 450 protesters were arrested during the crackdown. PTI, in a press release on its official ‘X’ handle, said, “In view of the atrocities committed by the government and its plans to turn the capital into a slaughterhouse of defenseless people, (we) will continue to hold peaceful protests for some time “Declaring suspension.” The party said the next step would be taken based on Khan’s instructions. 6 security guards also died

Six security personnel were killed and dozens injured in clashes between supporters and police. Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, who led the march from Peshawar to Islamabad along with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, said that after Khan’s release from prison Before, the protesters wouldn’t leave.
