Trump appointed Dr. Jai Bhattacharya, who was born in Calcutta, India, as director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). “I am pleased to nominate Dr. Jai Bhattacharya to serve as Director of the National Institutes of Health,” Trump said in announcing Jai’s appointment. Along with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Dr. Bhattacharya will work on medical research in the country that will improve the country’s health system.
