Samantha on dealing with the patriarchy and rumors

talking Galata, IndiaSamantha highlighted the patriarchal pressures women often face, especially after a relationship ends.

“Unfortunately, we live in an essentially patriarchal society. Women are judged and shamed more every time something goes wrong — not just online, but even in real life,” she shared.

She recounted the numerous false stories that were circulated about her during her divorce, adding that while she often wanted to expose the lies, she ultimately chose to remain silent.

“A lot of what’s been said about me is completely untrue. Sometimes I want to stand up and say, ‘This isn’t true.’ “But I thought, ‘What’s the benefit?'”

Choose silence over verification

Samantha reveals her struggle with her desire for public recognition but ultimately found comfort in knowing the truth to those she loved.

“Can’t you accept that your friends and family know the truth? If people believe something about you that’s not true, that’s okay,” she said, emphasizing the fleeting nature of public opinion.

She shared that this introspection allowed her to grow emotionally and prioritize self-acceptance over external validation.

“My whole life I’ve wanted love and recognition. But now, I realize it’s okay if people don’t believe you or appreciate you. I haven’t said anything yet, it’s up to them who believes it,” she concluded.
