Netflix hunts down users who leaked spoilers for Arcane and Squid Game, sending subpoenas to Discord, with netizens saying “I have a plan…”

Netflix is ​​”looking for” the person responsible for leaking spoilers online for the streaming platform’s popular and highly anticipated series Arcana Season 2 and Squidward Season 2, Games Radar reports.

The company filed a subpoena with the Northern District of California asking Discord to reveal the identity of the social media user claimed to be responsible for the X (formerly Twitter) leak.

User X account @jacejohns4n is now suspended. X has also suspended a potentially associated account, @jacejohns0n, for violating X rules.

Subpoena sent to Discord

Once a subpoena is issued, it legally requires the named party to attend a court hearing on a specified date.

The district court has issued a subpoena to social messaging app Discord, which is revered for its standalone servers and private chat rooms that allow customization, especially for gamers and niche groups, Games Radar reports.

The legal notice now asks Discord to provide “information sufficient to identify the individual user of the account @jacejohns4n responsible for the unauthorized posting of copyrighted images on or about November 12, 2024, including the individual’s name, physical address, IP address, phone number and email address,” according to the report.

More leaks may be related to this

The report further states that the same user may be related to a series of Netflix anime leaked in August 2023. Full episodes of the streaming giant’s Ranma 1/2 and Dandadan have been released online ahead of their official release.

Notably, in September 2024, a now-suspended Twitter account linked to a purported leaked interview. “My name is Jess Fowl Johnson. Of course, that’s not my real name. I’m responsible for some of the worst leaks in streaming history. I leaked Arcane S02, Heartbeat S03, Plankton Movie, Endgame Zero, Dandan, Bewitched and many other shows,” he said, adding that the leaker was a friend who works at a dubbing studio called Iyuno.

“I love being known… I will continue to leak more movies/shows. I know what I’m doing. I have a plan. It’s all in the planning stages and we are in Phase 1. Phase 2 is coming soon,” the user added. For now, it’s a wait-and-see game.
