Indian-American Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Sanjay Wadhwa to lead probe into Adani Group bribery allegations: Everything you need to know

Sanjay Wadhwa is Acting Director of the SEC’s Enforcement Division. He became deputy director in August 2021 after serving as senior deputy director for law enforcement in the New York field office.

Wadhwa joined the SEC in 2003 as a staff attorney and was later promoted to co-head of enforcement in the New York office, where he oversaw the day-to-day functions of its enforcement programs. He previously served in other positions, including Deputy Director of the Market Abuse Unit and Assistant Director of the New York Office. Prior to joining the SEC, Mr. Wadhwa worked as a tax associate at Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.

Mr. Wadhwa holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Florida Atlantic University, a J.D. and an LL.M. from South Texas College of Law in Houston. in Taxation from New York University School of Law.
