Maulana Arshad Madani, Chairman, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind
The Supreme Court handed down its highest ruling today, Wednesday, on the bulldozing operation. The court banned the bulldozing operation without following legal procedures. The court also said that if there is any unauthorized construction, the decision will not apply in such cases. The court said building houses was a constitutional right. The right to housing is a fundamental right.
The Supreme Court’s decision was welcomed by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Maulana Arshad Madani and Janata Samajwadi Party chief Mayawati. Mayawati posted a “will do” message on social media. The shadowy terror of Bulldozer is now surely over.
Maulana Arshad Madani welcomes the decision
Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind Chairman Maulana Arshad Madani welcomed the court’s decision. Maulana Arshad Madani said the stand taken by the court was absolutely correct. This is a major achievement of Jamiat Ulema Hind. We congratulate those judges who listen to the people and see their problems as their own. May God continue to make decisions like this in our country and give the poor their due rights. We think this decision is very good.
Maulana also posted a message on social media. The post also said that the Supreme Court took this decision based on a petition filed by Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind challenging the illegal bulldozing operation.
“This is a big decision”
Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind Secretary Niaz Ahmed Farooqui also welcomed the decision. He said Jamiat Ulema Hind welcomed this decision of the Supreme Court on the bulldozing operation. This is a big decision, one that will affect the entire country. This decision is not for any one community, not for any one case, not for any one place, but for everyone.
This is a Supreme Court decision and therefore applies nationwide. This decision clearly means that the rule of law cannot be undermined. Where there is the rule of law, there is no room for such bulldozing operations. The Supreme Court also had very harsh words to say about the officer and said strict action would be taken against the responsible officer. The Supreme Court has made it clear that no one is above the law. We all know that bulldozing operations only target certain communities. Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind hopes that governments will now follow these guidelines from the Supreme Court.
