The law banning social media will be submitted to parliament this year. Implementation of the law will take 12 months, or 1 year. Total ban on social media
Australian Communications Minister Michelle Rowland said this would include Meta’s platforms – Instagram and Facebook. Currently, no social media platform has made any statement on the Australian government’s decision.
Last year, France banned social media for children under 15. However, social media platforms can be used freely with parental consent. In addition, children under the age of 13 in the United States have been banned from using social media for a long time.
