By-elections will be held on November 13 for seven assembly seats in Rajasthan. With this in mind, the BJP is going all out as this is the first test for the Bhajan Lal government in the state. However, senior BJP leader Vasundhara Raje has recused himself from the by-elections to these seven seats related to the Lok Sabha elections. Vasundhara Raje is yet to campaign for any seat. In this situation, Vasundhara Raje’s hostility issues with the BJP organization and the Bhajan government intensified.
According to sources, amidst this animosity, Vasundhara Raje could campaign for the party candidate and her close friend in Jhunjhunu, Rajendra Bhambhu. Thereafter, plans to contest a seat in Vasundhara became a topic of discussion among BJP leaders. The BJP is contesting by-elections in Jhunjhunu, Dausa, Deoli-Uniara, Khivsar, Ramgarh, Chaurasi and Salumber seats in Rajasthan.
Government reputation issues
Out of the seven seats, the BJP holds the only seat, Salumber, but the question lies with the prestige of the Bhajan Lal government. As a result, the BJP is left with one less seat each, which has been handed over to important leaders of the state including Union ministers and MPs. The party has also included former CM Vasundhara Raje in the list of star campaigners, but Vasundhara is yet to visit any bypoll seat.
Vasundhara Raje is said to be angry with both the government and the organization. That’s why he’s not active in the state at all. Now, no national leader can answer any questions about Vasundhara Raje. Such being the case, Rajasthan BJP president Madan Rathore and state in-charge Radha Mohan Das Agarwal also gave different answers to Vasundhara Raje’s absence.
Vasundhara’s plan to be decided
State chief Radha Mohan Das Aggarwal said Vasundhara Raje was the central leader. She is older than me. Their plans will be decided by the high command. On the other hand, President Rathore said that Vasundhara’s plan will be decided but the Congress is fully enjoying this internal fight in the BJP.
Congress leader Pratap Singh said that no state leader in the BJP has a stature as high as Vasundhara and that is the only problem. However, Vasundhara’s policy of distancing himself from by-elections is not new. Even during the Lok Sabha elections, she was restricted to her son’s constituency. Even before the assembly elections, Vasundhara did not hold any rallies or meetings in any assembly constituency.
