Zeenat Aman’s heartbreaking confession: ‘My husband cheated on me in the first year of our marriage’

November 7, 2024: Bollywood legend Zeenat Aman endured years of betrayal and suffering in his marriage to actor Mazhar Khan. Their 12-year marriage was marred by infidelity and chronic illness, which left Zeenat exhausted and disillusioned. Although she recognized the flaws in her marriage almost immediately, she stayed, hoping to maintain stability for her two young sons.

In an old and candid interview with Simi Garewal, Zeenat recounts the harsh realities she faced. Early in their marriage, Mazar’s extramarital affairs became public knowledge and appeared in the pages of magazines. “There was a big article about the women he saw,” Zeenat shared. Still, she stayed, initially for the sake of the children and later, as Mazar’s health deteriorated, out of a sense of duty.

Throughout Mazar’s illness, Zeenat served as a caregiver, managing everything from learning medical procedures to arranging treatment abroad. She hoped her devotion would somehow repair her marriage, but it only cost her more. As Mazar’s addiction to prescription drugs worsened, causing irreversible damage to his kidneys, it left her with the burden of caring for a man who was deteriorating physically and emotionally.

Looking back on those years, Zeenat describes a huge emotional toll. “I gave everything over the years and I had nothing,” she said, recalling how she nearly collapsed under the pressure and received no support or recognition for her sacrifice.

Ultimately, witnessing Magyar’s self-destruction and lack of responsibility became too much for him. Zeenat chose to leave the marriage and walk away without any regrets. “Most women wouldn’t put up with as much as I did,” she declared, confirming that her decision was long overdue.
