Lahore: Mushal Hussain Malik, wife of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JFLF) leader and terrorist Yasin Malik, has written a letter to Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi . In a letter to Rahul Gandhi, Malik demanded that the issue of her jailed husband be raised in Parliament. Mushar claimed that her husband could play an important role in maintaining peace in Jammu and Kashmir. In his letter to Rahul, he said he was demanding death penalty in the fabricated case against Malik.
NIA seeks death penalty against Malik
Mushar, who served as Pakistan Prime Minister’s aide on human rights and women’s empowerment, in a letter to Rahul Gandhi drew his attention to the ongoing three-year-old treason case against Malik . The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has sought the death penalty. The NIA has filed an appeal in the case, seeking the death penalty for Malik. The agency charged several people, including Malik, in the 2017 case.
Court sentences Malik to life imprisonment
In 2022, a lower court sentenced Yassin Malik to life in prison. Mushar wrote in the letter, “Malik has been on an indefinite hunger strike since November 2 to protest against the inhumane treatment in prison.” This hunger strike will have a more dangerous impact on Malik’s health. This will endanger the lives of those who choose to give up their weapons and follow the path of non-violence. Mushar claimed that the BJP government has been harassing Malik in “every unimaginable way” since 2019.
Mushar calls case fabricated
“Malik has been indicted for waging war against India for 35 years and now the NIA is demanding death penalty against him in a fabricated case against him,” Mushar said. “I urge you (Rahul) Use your high moral and political influence in Parliament to initiate discussion on Yasin Malik’s case which can bring real peace to Jammu and Kashmir and not “fake”.
