Congress leader Rahul Gandhi kicks off election campaign in Maharashtra today. He organized a conference in Nagpur to save the Constitution. Constitution’s ‘Lal Kitab’ was rejected but now the BJP has made a major demand for the book. The BJP claimed on Twitter that the video was of the Constitution-Saving Conference held in Nagpur and that the Red Book of the Constitution brought by Rahul Gandhi was completely blank i.e. nothing was written in it.
The BJP termed the blank constitution book as an insult to the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Constitution. The BJP said Rahul Gandhi, on the one hand, talks about saving the Constitution. On the other hand, they were wandering around with a blank constitution book talking about ending reservation.
Rahul enters Maharashtra territory with his narrative
Let us tell you that Rahul Gandhi came to Maharashtra with his own narrative. Rahul wants the same narrative in the Assembly elections as in the Lok Sabha elections, which is why he is campaigning in Maharashtra from Nagpur. He first reached Deekshabhoomi where Baba Saheb Ambedkar converted to Buddhism. Rahul Gandhi pays tribute to Ambedkar here. Thereafter he came to address the Constitutional Convention.
Rahul raised the argument that the “Constitution is in danger” during the Lok Sabha elections, in which the Indian Union benefited. Even today, Rahul Gandhi is directly attacking the BJP and RSS over the constitutional issue.
“The Constitution is not a book, but a way of life”
He said the Constitution drafted by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was not just a book but a way of life. The Opposition leader said that when the RSS and the BJP “attack” the Constitution, they are attacking the voice of the nation.
