CNN has publicly apologized and banned its reporters from commenting on a Muslim reporter. One of the channel’s reporters made comments on air about a Muslim reporter that the outlet called a racist. CNN has apologized to a Muslim journalist and said it has banned a conservative commentator from its network.
“I hope your pager doesn’t go off,” Trump supporter and panelist Ryan Girdusky said late Monday night discussing Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s recent rally remarks He told Muslim journalist Mehdi Hasan during his remarks.
Although Gdarski later apologized for his on-air remarks, he defended himself on social media, saying it was a joke. Hassan has previously said he is pro-Palestinian.

After the incident, CNN anchor Abby Phillip apologized to Hassan. “There is no place for racism or bigotry on CNN or on our broadcasts,” CNN said in a separate statement. “Ryan Gdarski will not be banned.” Welcome back to our network,” it said.
