Diwali 2024: Today is Narak Chaturdashi, also known as Chhoti Diwali. Chhoti Diwali is celebrated a day before Diwali. People worship Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha on Diwali. Yamraj is also worshiped on the day of Chhoti Diwali.

Chaturdashi Tithi will start on October 30, today at 1:15 pm and Chaturdashi Tithi will end on October 31 at 3:52 pm. On this day, Abhyang Snan Muhurta will be held from 5.20 to 6.32 am on October 30.
Jyoti Diwali Pujan Vidhi 2024
Before Chhoti Diwali, Ahoi Ashtami of Kartik Krishna Paksha fills the pot with water. On the day of Narak Chaturdashi, there is a tradition of mixing the water in this pot with the bath water and taking a bath. It is believed that by doing this, one can escape the fear of hell. After bathing, fold your hands towards the south and pray to Yamraj. By doing this, the sins one commits throughout the year are wiped out.
On this day, an oil lamp is lit outside the main entrance of the house in memory of Yamraj. On the day of Narak Chaturdashi, after worshiping the gods in the evening, light oil lamps and place them on both sides of the door frame of the house, outside the house and at the entrance of the workplace. It is believed that by doing this, Goddess Lakshmi will reside in the house forever. On this day of Nisi, useless items should be thrown away from the house. It is believed that Goddess Lakshmi enters the house on Diwali (the second day of Narak Chaturdash) and therefore the dirt in the house should be removed.

– On this day people worship Yama, the god of death.
– On this day, the whole house lights up lights and prays facing south. Therefore, he received the blessing of his ancestors.
– Worshiping Lord Krishna on the day of Narak Chaturdashi is considered particularly fruitful.
– On this day, you should serve the cows and feed them green fodder.
– On the day of Jyoti Diwali, people should worship family deities and also light lamps in the name of their ancestors.
– On the day of Jyoti Diwali, light oil lamps at two corners of the main entrance of the house. By doing this, Goddess Lakshmi lives in the house.
– Mother Kali is also supposed to be worshiped on this day. In Bengal, this day is celebrated as Kali’s birthday. Therefore, it is also known as Kali Chaudas.
– On this day, people should wake up on Brahma and massage their body with sesame oil. Hence it is called Roop Chaturdashi.
