Congress leader Ponnam Prabhakar on Saturday gave information about the caste survey. He told the Congress that a caste survey would be initiated in Telangana. Prabhakar said the state’s caste survey is expected to begin on November 4-5 and may be completed by November 30. He said the work comes amid Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s promise to conduct a caste survey in the state and across the country.
Prabhakar further said that 80,000 government employees will participate in this investigation and they will receive good training for this. According to a resolution passed by the Telangana Assembly, the state cabinet has approved the modalities of the caste survey, which is expected to be completed by November 30. The actual count, covering every household, will likely begin on November 4 or 5. All data collected will be kept in the public domain.
Indiramma housing scheme launched
Revenue Minister P Srinivas Reddy said the cabinet has also decided to construct 3,500 houses for the poor in all 119 wards. He further said that a day or two after Diwali, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will launch the Indiramma Housing Scheme, which will be constructed at a cost of over Rs 24,000 crore in PPP mode in the form of a joint venture between the government and the government. The five routes will be expanded to approximately 76.4 kilometers.

The cabinet meeting also decided to develop the state’s road network on a PPP model. Srinivas Reddy said for this purpose, a committee of senior officials will be formed to study models in other states. Reddy said the road network is expected to cost between Rs 25,000 crore and Rs 28,000 crore over the next four years.
