In Karnataka, on the occasion of Diwali, the state government allowed the setting off of firecrackers for only two hours, so politics began. The BJP leader criticized the new guidelines issued by the Congress government on bursting of firecrackers.
The Bharatiya Janata Party challenged the decision
The government has issued instructions that firecrackers can be set off only between 8 pm and 10 pm and only green firecrackers can be used during this period. The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) pointed the finger at the Congress government and said the restrictions were only implemented during Hindu festivals such as Ganesha and Diwali.
The government cited the Centre’s guidelines
Regarding the government’s decision, Forest Minister Ishwar Khandre told our partner channel India Today that it is in compliance with the Supreme Court and central government orders, in which only two hours were given for bursting off firecrackers. During this period, only green biscuits are allowed to be burned, the sound level of which should be below 125 decibels.
Minister Kandel also said that if the central government changes the order and allows more time for setting off firecrackers, then they will consider lifting the restrictions. Reacting to BJP leader Yatnar, Ishwar Khandre said, “Yatnal has a personal grudge against me because I did not clean up the pollution for his company, which is why he targeted him. I am posting misinformation on social media.”
Congress surrounds BJP leaders
He further said, “Minister Prahlad Joshi is not aware of the orders of his own government and the directions of the Supreme Court.” If they have any objection, then they should challenge the ruling of the Supreme Court and their own government. The forest minister clarified that the state government is only following the guidelines of the central government and the Supreme Court.
