Delhi: Bomb threat at IGI airport, police arrests one

Delhi Police arrested a person at the airport in connection with a bomb threat.

Police have arrested a man in connection with a bomb threat at IGI Airport. It is reported that the name of this person is Shubham Upadhyay. Police said the defendant made the bomb threat at the airport through social media just to attract attention after seeing similar news on television.

In fact, IGI Airport received two suspicious bomb threat messages through social media accounts late at night on October 25 and 26. This caused an uproar. In this case, the police opened a case and started investigation under Section 3(1)(d) of the SUA SCA Act 1982 and Section 351(4) of the BNS.

Threaten defendant to be arrested

During this time, all protocols were followed, but the bomb threat turned out to be a hoax, which was again proven false. During the course of investigation, the police came to know that the messages were sent by a person living in Uttam Nagar. A person from Delhi, the capital, named Shubham Upadhyay. Immediately thereafter, the police arrested the 25-year-old defendant Shubham with the help of human intelligence and technical intelligence.

The defendant told police that he had threatened to bomb the airport through social media just to attract attention after seeing similar news on television.
