IIT Madras joins hands with French university! This new course will start in January

There is a great opportunity to study Aviation Safety Management Course (Advanced Masters Course) at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. IIT Madras has collaborated with the French National Institute of Civil Aviation (ENAC) to launch the “Aviation Safety Management” course in the Indian civil aviation industry. The course was designed with the help of Airbus to enhance safety education in aviation. The first batch of this course will start in January 2025, with a total of 30 places.

Course duration
This is a two-year program with one week of individual lessons every two months in the first year and one week per month in the second year. The entire program will be taught by experts from France. The new course at IIT Madras involves a six-month project or thesis.

Who can be admitted?
This course will be in a hybrid format where participants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or college. In addition to this, professional experience in related fields is also sought. Its offline and online courses are held 5 days a week. Teachers from France and Europe will take classes. To get admission into the course, candidates have to pay a fee of Rs 5 lakh.

The online registration process for the IIT Madras Aviation Safety Management course will begin on December 15. Professor V Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, said that as air travel continues to grow, Airline Safety Management ENAC has highlighted the importance of this initiative in enhancing safety education. “Our relationship will impact every traveler traveling to and from India,” he said.

Dr. MJ Shankar Raman, CEO of the promoters, emphasized the need for such courses in the rapidly evolving civil aviation environment which, despite its rapid growth, also faces various challenges. “This course will ensure our travel experience is safe and secure and enable seamless interaction between different business units in the aviation industry,” he said.
