Jharkhand strategy
The BJP has further intensified its campaign in Jharkhand. The party decided to adopt the strategy of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan besides Haryana. The party decided that this parliamentary election will not be held under the leadership of any one leader, but under collective leadership. The campaign in the state is being led by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The task of executing the state election strategy falls on the shoulders of these two leaders. The two leaders were supplying the party high command with information about the state organization at every turn.
Didn’t get any benefit from Raghuvar Das
In the 2019 elections, the BJP announced non-tribal face Raghuvar Das as the party’s representative. The party then lost the election. The BJP could win only 6 seats in tribal seats, especially in Santhal Pargana and Kolkhan. In comparison, JMM secured 28 seats. Yesterday or today, there was no stronger face in the BJP than Shibu Soren. This is why the BJP is formulating an electoral strategy to oust Hemant Soren from power in the state.
The BJP has no face in the state
Leaders like Babulal Marandi and Arjun Munda do not seem to have any special magical role in the state. Therefore, Champai Soren from Kolhan was inducted into the Bharatiya Janata Party. In this scenario, the BJP lacks a leader with special appeal to tribal voters. The BJP, on the other hand, is also aware that non-tribals are more numerous in its electorate. The BJP is doing better in non-tribal seats, so its core voters still hope that one of them will become the chief minister. This is why the BJP talks about collective leadership.
The atmosphere has changed in Jharkhand
After the Jharkhand Assembly elections were held in 2019, the politics of the state changed a lot. Jharkhand has had two people become chief ministers thrice in the last five years. After the formation of Jharkhand in 2000, most governments were formed under the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party or the Bharatiya Janata Party. Thirteen different governments were formed in 24 years. These governments were led by seven different people. This means that no BJP chief minister will be able to complete his term.
