October 25, 2024: The blackbuck poaching case involving Bollywood star Salman Khan has resurfaced, with Lawrence Bishnoi’s cousin Ramesh Bishnoi speaking out in support of the jailed gangster. In a recent interview with New Delhi TV, Ramesh claimed that Salman Khan had offered money to the Bishnoi community but they rejected it. The community continues to stand with Lawrence, who is currently incarcerated in Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat, facing multiple charges.

Bishnoi community rejects Salman Khan’s alleged proposal Ramesh Bishnoi claimed that the blackbuck incident deeply offended the Bishnoi community as they considered the animal sacred, and Salman Khan tried to reconcile by offering money. “Salman’s father Salim Khan accused the Lawrence gang of seeking money. I would like to remind him that his son brought a checkbook and told the community to write down the amount they wanted. If we are in it for money, we It will be accepted then,” Ramesh told New Delhi TV.

Blackbuck poaching and community outrage Salman Khan has been accused of hunting blackbuck, an act that sparked widespread outrage among the Bishnoi community, who are known for their reverence for the animal. Lawrence Bishnoi said in a 2023 interview that Salman was disrespecting their community by killing the blackbuck, PTI reported.
Ramesh explained that the entire community was deeply affected by the incident. “When Salman Khan killed the blackbuck, the blood of every Bishnoi boiled. We decided to take the matter to court but it is natural for us to feel angry when the community is ridiculed. Today, The entire Bishnoi community supports Lawrence in this matter,” he asserted.
Death threats and safety concerns Over the years, Salman Khan received multiple death threats from Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang after the Blackbuck incident. Earlier this year, Navi Mumbai police filed a case against 18 members of the Bishnoi gang, accusing them of conspiring to assassinate Salman at his farmhouse near Mumbai.
In April, security around Salman’s Bandra residence was tightened following a series of fresh death threats and an extortion racket worth Rs 5 crore to end the feud between Salman and Lawrence Bishnoi Long-running feud. According to police, the Mumbai Traffic Police received a threatening message on WhatsApp, warning: “If Salman Khan wants to survive and end his hostility with Lawrence Bishnoi, he must pay Rs 5 crore. Otherwise, He will be in worse condition than Baba Siddique.”
A few days later, an apology message was received from the same number that had previously sent the threat, indicating a reversal of the previous warning.
New accusations from Lawrence Bishnoi’s family and ongoing security concerns highlight ongoing tensions over blackbuck poaching, an issue that has dogged Salman Khan for years .
