In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, police busted a gambling gang operating from Dubai in the guise of online gaming. Police have detained four people in the case. A police officer said Thursday that the operation was being carried out confidentially.
Giving information on the matter, Indore Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Indore Rajesh Dandotia said that based on secret information, a house in Palsika Colony was raided. A gambling ring operates under the guise of online gaming.
ADCP Rajesh Dandotia told PTI that the gang was operating from Dubai. Four local agents from the gang were raided and detained at the house. Preliminary investigation revealed that the gang operated from Dubai through a website and had agents in various cities in India.
The deputy commissioner of police said the four arrested accused were undergoing interrogation. In the process, the defendant revealed that by gambling under the guise of online games, the chances of winning were slim, while gang operators and agents made huge profits.
ADCP said one laptop, two computers, seven mobile phones, other devices and betting details have been recovered from the accused. He said a detailed investigation into the betting scam was ongoing.
