A tragic incident occurred at the Government Medical College, Padang. Among them, the 7-year-old girl Sophia died due to lack of treatment. The victim’s father, Nazim, took his critically ill daughter to the medical college, but due to the doctor’s negligence, the girl was unable to receive treatment and eventually died.
The victim’s father claimed that after taking the girl to the hospital, she was forced to wait for several hours and doctors refused to treat her. During this period, Sofia’s condition allegedly worsened as doctors continued to watch cricket matches on television. Eventually he died in his mother’s arms. After the incident, the family members cried bitterly and demanded severe punishment for the doctors involved.
Girl dies due to lack of treatment
After the incident, the police rushed to the scene and listened to the victim’s father’s report. Meanwhile, when the media contacted the medical college administration, CMS Prof. Dr. Arun Kumar said that the incident was very sad and a four-member team has been formed to investigate and will submit a report soon.
Regarding this matter, former Badaun MP and Azamgarh MP Dharmendra Yadav also posted on his X account condemning the government and demanding strict action against the culprits.
The heart aches after witnessing such a heart-wrenching incident.

Establish an investigative committee
Meanwhile, in response to this matter, the Dean of the Medical College said that the Medical College has proposed a seven-day festival that will include games and other activities. MBBS students are involved and only a few academic staff are involved. It is understood the doctor was busy at the game at the time and an investigation is currently underway. None of the doctors or staff from IPD, OPD and Emergency Department participated in the event.
