He remembers, “Farah asked me to come over, and when I arrived, I tried to strike up a conversation, but she quickly said, ‘Shut up for two minutes,’ which I thought was a little rude. I was trying, and then Shahruh walked in — He was as welcoming and polite as ever.”
Zayed continued: “When Shah Rukh was talking, I was just listening, but then he got straight to the point. He said: ‘Let’s skip the small talk. I just have one question: can you act?’ When he asked me this When asked, I felt really bad because he seemed to doubt my ability. I responded, “I was born to act,” but it wasn’t out of arrogance; it was just arrogance. It was sad that he asked me this. I almost wanted to ask him back: “Can you perform?” “After I answered, he moved on without pursuing the question further.”
