A train passing through Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia district caused an uproar as not one, not two but more than 700 rounds of ammunition were recovered from a girl traveling in the train. A passenger train was heading to Chhapra in Bihar on Wednesday, police said. A girl traveling in the car had 750 cartridges hidden on her person.
Subhash Chandra Yadav, the GRP station in-charge of Ballia, while giving information about the matter, said that the age of the accused girl is about 20 years. She traveled from Banaras to Chapra by train number 05446. The accused girl was seen traveling with 750 .315 caliber bullets and police were notified. Thereafter, a team of the Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested him at Ballia railway station.
Government Railway Police (GRP) Inspector Subhash Chandra Yadav told Press Trust of India (PTI) that the woman has been identified as Manita Singh, who He is a resident of Nadihar village under the jurisdiction of Rajgarh police station in Mirzapur district. Police officials said the cartridges were found in the bag of a girl who was traveling in a train from Varanasi.
During interrogation, the accused girl told the police that she was going to Chapra with ammunition. Inspector Yadav told the girl that according to the girl, two persons, Ankit Kumar Pandey and Roshan Yadav, residents of Ghazipur, asked her to send the cartridges to Chapra.
Station in-charge Subhash Chandra Yadav said the police are conducting a detailed investigation into the case and are trying to arrest Ankit Kumar Pandey and Roshan Yadav.
