Congress MP Imran Masood, accused in 10-year-old case, made ‘boti-boti’ statement against PM Modi, MP may step down

The court filed charges against Imran Masood, a Congress MP from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. The charges were leveled against Imran Masood for his “boti-boti” remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. The matter is likely to be decided soon. If the penalty exceeds two years, members of Congress may also lose their membership in Congress.

It is reported that the part under which the charges were laid provides for a penalty of 5 to 7 years’ imprisonment. In this case, Imran Masood may also lose his MP if the court proves his guilt.

It is understood that 10 years ago, Imran Masood made the statement “Boti-Boti Kat Denge” and his video went viral on the Internet. This remark was allegedly directed at Prime Minister Modi and caused an uproar. Subsequently, Imran Masood opened a case in this regard, and the case is still under trial. Masood was the Lok Sabha candidate of the Congress at the time.
