Ekta Kapoor clarifies case filed under POCSO Act

October 22, 2024: Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor respond to case filed under POCSO Act against ALT Balaji web series dirty bart.

On Tuesday, the Kapoors shared an official statement through ALT Balaji’s Instagram account, refuting the allegations of inappropriate scenes involving minors in the show. The statement emphasized that neither Ekta nor Shobha Kapoor is involved in the day-to-day operations of ALT Balaji as these are handled by different teams.

An official clarification from ALT Digital Media Entertainment LTD said: “The company fully complies with all applicable laws including the POCSO Act and any suggestion that minors are involved in the series is incorrect.” The statement also reiterated that Ekta and Shobha Kapoor is not directly involved in managing content or other operational aspects of the platform, adding that the company has full confidence in the legal authorities and is cooperating with the investigation.

The response came after Mumbai police interrogated the Kapoors on a complaint filed by them. dirty bart Season 6 airs from February to April 2021. The episode reportedly contained inappropriate scenes involving minors and hence ALT Balaji no longer aired the episode. Police are also requesting more information about the actors involved and will further investigate the production team behind the show.

The Kapoors have been asked to appear in court on October 24 for further questioning.
