“I sit in the presence of God”

Justice DY Chandrachud addressed people in Kankhesar, Maharashtra on Sunday. “We often come across situations where we are unable to reach any solution and make a decision,” he said. Something similar happened during Ayodhya (Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute). This case has been before me for three months, he said. Explaining how he took a decision in the case, the CJI said, I sat before God and told him that you have to find a solution to this case.

CJI has reached Rama temple

The chief justice said, believe me, if you believe in God, God will always find a way. On November 9, 2019, a five-judge bench of the Supreme Court headed by the then Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi delivered a historic judgment on Ayodhya. CJI Ranjan Gogoi paved the way for the construction of Ram temple. It has also been decided to provide only 5 acres of land in Ayodhya for the mosque. DY Chandrachud was also included in the five-judge bench. CJI DY Chandrachud also went to Ram temple for darshan in July after its completion.
