Supreme Court Chief Justice DY Chandrachud said he has prayed to God to find a solution to the Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute. He said if a person has faith, God will find a way.
Addressing people of his hometown Kanhersar in Pune’s Khed taluka, he said many times we come across cases but we are unable to find solutions. Exactly the same thing happened in the Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute case in Ayodhya. This thing bothered me for three months. I sat before God and prayed to Him that He would find a solution.
The CJI said, believe me, if you have faith, then God will find a way. He said everyone must play their part in protecting communities as climate change affects not only wealthy societies but also the most marginalized.
Let us tell you that on November 9, 2019, a five-judge bench of the Supreme Court headed by the then CJI Ranjan Gogoi settled a contentious issue by paving the way for the construction of Rama temple in Ayodhya. Chandrachud was also part of the bench that delivered a historic verdict in the case. Let us tell you that CJI Chandrachud visited the Rama temple in Ayodhya in July this year and offered prayers. On January 22 this year, the statue of Ram Lala was consecrated.
