October 20, 2024: Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor face legal issues after filing a complaint under the POCSO Act.
The case stems from an episode of their web series dirty bart (Season 6) aired on ALT Balaji, which allegedly contained inappropriate scenes involving underage girls. The complaint was registered at the MHB police station in Mumbai and cited violations of several laws, including Section 295-A of the IPC and the IT Act and Sections 13 and 15 of the POCSO Act.
The controversial content aired between February and April 2021 but is no longer available on the platform.
Amid this legal battle, Ekta’s film Love, Sex Aur Dhokha 2 The film opens in theaters on April 19. Directed by Dibakar Banerjee, the film explores contemporary social issues, highlighting the contrast between intimacy and digital distractions through a thought-provoking narrative.
