At the same time, he said if there were any changes in the waqf board, it would be under the control of the district collector and officials would be biased.

He opposes the religious endowment amendment and says he will continue to fight for the bill. Meanwhile, Jammu Kashmir Waqf Board Member Sahail Qasmi issued a statement in this regard. He said the remarks made by former MP Badruddin Ajmal were irresponsible remarks. Sohail Qasmi said it was the duty of the Waqf Board to manage waqf properties, but it itself was moving these properties around.

“Waqf committees should be held accountable”

Jammu Kashmir Waqf Board member Suhail Qasmi said all waqf boards in India were working under one government or another. He said the Waqf Board should take responsibility and if any land is used for any purpose, a memorandum of understanding must be signed and the government can only benefit from it. Qasmi called Badruddin Ajmal’s statement irresponsible and personal.
