Kaushambi: A brawl broke out between two communities during idol immersion and the SP suspended the responsible inspector and ordered a departmental inquiry.

The violence in Baraich, Uttar Pradesh is yet to subside. Meanwhile, in Kaushambi district, the controversial issue of playing gulal on idol immersion day has attracted attention. In fact, the SP has taken significant action on the issue of riots between the two communities. He has suspended the responsible police station and responsible post.

On the day of the idol immersion, videos of stones being thrown and fights going on in the village went viral on social media. Accordingly, Kaushambi SP has suspended Manjhanpur inspector Raj Kishore and outpost in-charge Nara. Meanwhile, the SP also ordered a departmental inquiry against the two persons.

Riots erupted over spraying of Gulal water at Imam Bazaar.

The entire incident took place in Nara Balipur village in Manjhanpur police station area. On October 12, a clash broke out between the two communities when gulal was thrown at the Imam Bazaar during the immersion of the idols. During this time, people from both communities hurled stones at each other. After learning about the incident, outpost in-charge Nara Kamlesh Pandey rushed to the spot and tried to pacify the people, but the commotion did not subside.

When the riots escalated, District Magistrate Madhusudan Khurji and Inspector General of Police Brijesh Kumar Srivastava rushed to the spot with heavy police force and somehow pacified the people. Afterwards people immerse the idol in water. Following this, Prayagraj Range Deputy Inspector General of Police Bhanu Bhaskar, IG Prem Gautam reached the village on Sunday and after investigation, necessary instructions were issued to the officials.

Now, Manjhanpur police station in-charge Raj Kishore and Nara outpost in-charge Kamlesh Pandey have been suspended by the superintendent of police (SP) after they were initially found guilty. Sanjay Kumar Tiwari has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Police of Manjhanpur police station. Inspector General of Police Brijesh Kumar Srivastava said initially the police chief and officer-in-charge had been found guilty and suspended. Meanwhile, investigations are underway against them for departmental action. The investigation has been handed over to additional SPs who will conduct the investigation and submit a report soon. Based on this, some actions will also be taken against them.
