‘Trudeau bears full responsibility for deterioration in relations…’ India shows harsh attitude after Canadian PM’s confession

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who has been cornering India for the past year over the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, has himself exposed his secrets. Trudeau admitted that he had not provided any concrete evidence to India on the matter. He admitted that Canada only provided intelligence and no evidence to the Indian government during the Nijjar massacre.

Trudeau told the Foreign Interference Committee set up to investigate Canada’s elections that Canadian institutions had tried to cooperate with India behind the scenes before publicly accusing India of involvement in the Nijar massacre.

He said when Canadian investigative agencies asked India to look into the allegations, they asked for evidence. He admitted that at the time he was only sharing intelligence and had no concrete evidence.

After Trudeau’s confession, India also reacted. India responded by saying that the responsibility for the deterioration of relations lies with Trudeau alone.

What does India say?

After Trudeau’s remarks came to light, Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal responded. “What we heard today confirms that Canada has provided no evidence to support the serious allegations against India and Indian diplomats. This is what we have been saying all along,” he said.

The Ministry of External Affairs further said, “The damage caused to India-Canada relations by this act lies solely with Prime Minister Trudeau.”

Even when Trudeau claimed in Parliament last September that Indian agents were involved in the Nijjar massacre, India rejected it as absurd. Recently, when Canadian police accused Indian diplomats of participating in criminal activities, India also strongly denied it and recalled its diplomats.

What does Trudeau say now?

Trudeau also mentioned his conversation with Prime Minister Modi at the G20 summit last September. He said, I expressed my concerns about this matter during my meeting with Prime Minister Modi. In this regard, he said that there are people in Canada involved in activities against India, and he hopes to arrest these people.

Trudeau claimed that India refused to cooperate with the investigation and stepped up its attacks on Canada, making it clear that India had violated Canada’s sovereignty.

He still reiterated the allegation that there was conclusive evidence of the involvement of Indian agents in the Nijjar massacre.

Trudeau also named the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang, a gang previously mentioned by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Trudeau claimed that Indian diplomats were collecting information on Canadian citizens and feeding it to Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang.

What’s going on?

The entire incident is related to the murder of Khalistani supporter Hardeep Singh Nijar. Nijar was declared a terrorist by India despite being a Canadian citizen. He was shot and killed near the Gurudwara in Surrey, British Columbia, on June 18 last year.

On September 18 last year, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused Indian agents of involvement in Nijjar’s murder.

However, India has always denied these claims by Canada and considered them absurd and baseless. On Monday, Canadian police used their position to collect information directly or through agents in Indian diplomatic and consular missions. This means that Canada directly sent the Indian diplomats to the dock. Later, Trudeau repeated the same accusation at a press conference.

But the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied this and made it clear that Trudeau did this for vote bank politics. India also recalled High Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Verma after Canada made the allegations. India has made it clear that they now do not trust the current Canadian government.
