In major blow to Ajit Pawar ahead of Maharashtra Assembly elections, 600 workers including Pune mayor resign

Ahead of the Maharashtra assembly elections, NCP leader and deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar received a huge shock on Wednesday. Angry over the failure to appoint MLAs to the Governor-appointed Legislative Council, 600 workers, including Deepak Mankar, the Pune city president of Ajit Pawar’s faction, left the party. On Wednesday, he announced his decision to quit the party at a press conference.

Let us tell you that 7 out of the 12 leaders have been listed as MLAs on behalf of the Governor. The swearing-in ceremony of MLAs appointed by the Governor of Maharashtra will be held at 12 noon at the Central Hall of Vidhan Bhavan. Among the seven, Pankaj Bhujbal, leader of Ajit Pawar’s faction and son of Chagan Bhujbal, was sworn in. Sindhi leader and former MP Manisha Kayande was sworn in. Deepak Mankar, chairman of Ajit Pawar Group’s Pune city, expressed dissatisfaction and about 600 people, including the city chairman, have resigned.
