Spitting in food will be a non-bailable offence… The need for such a law will be a shame for the society. point of view

Today is World Food Day and videos like this are going viral on social media and it’s hard to even hear them. There have been frequent reports of people spitting on food at roadside shops, but this time it was a maid working from home who was exposed. The maid used urine instead of water to knead the dough. His behavior was exposed when his family secretly filmed him cooking. In the Ghaziabad case, the accused maid has been arrested.

It is said that she worked in the maid family for 8 years. When the family began to become seriously ill a few months later, they became suspicious. Family members suffer from stomach and liver problems. At first, treatment was thought to be a simple infection, but when the condition didn’t improve, suspicion began to grow – and upon investigation, the whole story came to light.

It was July 2024 and there was a commotion when the local police asked the owners to write down their names outside the shop on Kanwar Yatra Road. The matter reached the Supreme Court but was stayed – and now there is news that the Uttar Pradesh government will introduce a new ordinance to stop such cases.

Mixing saliva into food is a non-bailable offence.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also took incidents of saliva in food very seriously and ordered the Attorney General to take strict action in such cases. Pushkar Singh Dhami said, “Such inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated in Uttarakhand…Such incidents not only contaminate food but also hurt sentiments…We will take strict action against such incidents.”

The Uttarakhand government has issued instructions to district police to ensure 100 per cent verification of staff in hotels, dhabas and other institutions and collect intelligence information while installing CCTVs.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is preparing to issue an ordinance banning the mixing of saliva or any human excreta. In this regard, two ordinances will be proposed – Prevention of Counterfeiting and Immoral Activities and Prohibition of Spitting Regulations 2024 and Prevention of Food Contamination (Consumers’ Right to Information) Regulations 2024.

Through the Act, spitting and feeding will not only be made a non-bailable offence, but strict penalties will also be imposed for the offence. Furthermore, with the introduction of this regulation, everyone will have the right to receive complete information about their food. The two regulations are related to each other. Where is the food cooked? Who’s making it? How was the food? Under the Act, consumers will get almost the same rights to know everything about the food as with the information in RTI.

If people who mix saliva and urine in their food aren’t psychopaths, then what are they?

Just imagine, that maid worked in that home for eight years. She may have worked in other houses before. It is unclear if she was working in the same household where she was arrested, mixing urine to cook food, or if she was doing it elsewhere. The truth will only come to light through a police investigation – and it will also be known she was in recent days. Have you always been doing this work, or have you been doing it since the beginning?

After all, what are these people like? What is their brain structure like? Why do such thoughts appear in their minds? In many cases, criminals are considered psychopaths who commit crimes for fun. They take pleasure in their behavior – this type of food-related behavior only shows that the person involved is also a psychopath.

The situation is so serious that the government has to enact a law banning saliva and urine from being mixed into food and people avoid garlic and onions – what could be more shameful than that.
