Thereafter, he completed further studies at Lahore College. Dev Anand’s brothers Chetan Anand and Vijay Anand are also successful directors in the Indian film industry. His sister Sher Kanta Kapoor is the mother of the famous film director Shekhar Kapoor. Dev Anand said in an interview that when he came to Mumbai looking for a job, he had only Rs 3.

You can work even with a monthly salary of 65 rupees
Dev Anand moved to Bombay in the early 1940s. Here he started working in the Military Inspectorate Office to make ends meet, earning a monthly salary of Rs. Later, he also worked as a clerk in an accounting firm, earning a salary of 85 rupees. He is a member of the Indian People’s Theater Association (IPTA) along with his brother Chetan. Dev Anand also aspired to become an artist after watching Ashok Kumar’s performance in films like Achhut Kanya and Kismat.

Started acting career in 1946

These include many movies including Vidya, Jeet, Afsar, Neeli, Do Sitare, Sanam, Ziddi, Baaji, Aandhiyan, Taxi Driver, House Number 44, Nau Do Gyarah, Pocket Maar, CID, Paying Guest, Guide.

In 1949, Dev Anand established his own film company. He named him Nafktan. That’s how he became a filmmaker. Dev Anand Sahab chose his friend Guru Dutt as director and produced a film. Its name was “Baaji” and the film was released in 1951 and was quite successful.

The first color movie guide was released in 1965.
His first color film was released in 1965 titled “Guide”, which was adapted from the novel by the famous author RK Narayan. The show is produced by his brother Vijay Anand. Waheeda Rehman stars in the film along with Dev Anand. This movie is one of Dev Saheb’s best movies. It is said that guides can no longer be produced. A movie like this is only made once.
