A Delhi Saket court has sent Ashneer Grover’s relative Deepak Gupta to judicial custody for five days. Gupta is the former head of administration and procurement at BharatPe.
Gupta was brought to the Saket court after being in police custody for five days, ANI reported.
The Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police arrested Deepak Gupta on charges of misappropriation of funds from BharatPe. This case involves misappropriation of funds $The report stated that Rs 72 crore was paid to fake vendors.
The legal dispute between Ashneer Grover and BharatPe began in 2022 when Grover was kicked out of the company for allegedly misusing funds and company resources. Gupta’s arrest has intensified the ongoing fighting, ANI reported. BharatPe reportedly committed financial fraud amounting to $81 Crores.
In addition, the Delhi Police also requested that Gupta be detained for 10 days to investigate the matter. The police have sought detention to recover the computer and probe the relationship with Amit Bansal, another accused in the case, and understand the flow of funds, ANI reported.

On September 17, the Delhi High Court allowed Ashneer Grover and his wife Madhuri Jain to travel abroad. The EOW issued a caution notice to them, preventing them from traveling internationally. The couple challenged the lookout notice.
The Delhi High Court allowed the couple to visit the UK from September 28 to October 7 and Qatar from October 17 to 20, ANI reported.
After examining their petition, Delhi High Court Justice Sanjeev Narula allowed Grover and his wife to travel abroad. The request was opposed by special prosecutor Rishikesh Kumar, representing the Delhi Police. The couple also received permission to travel abroad to visit the United States.
