J&K BJP chief spokesperson Sunil Sethi today said that the National Conference (NC) and Congress have shown wrong history to the people and belittled Hari Singh (Maharaja Hari Singh) portrays him in a negative light.
This was what Sunil Sethi was speaking at a press conference here today. BJP spokesperson Abhijeet Jasrotia, Lieutenant General (retd), Rakesh Sharma, Dr Tahir Chowdhary and YV Sharma were also present at the press conference.
“NC and Congress have defamed the image of Maharaja Hari Singh and presented him in a negative light,” Sethi said, while adding, “By belittling Maharaja, NC-Congress has cast Sheikh Abul Doula is portrayed as a hero and a greater leader”.
Sethi said it was because of Maharaja Hari Singh that J&K became an integral part of today’s India, but the NC and Congress always belittled his contribution and his work for social reforms.
Sethi said the NC Congress exiled the Maharaja and never allowed him to return to J&K until he was alive. “The NC-Congress declared a holiday on Sheikh Abdullah’s birthday and Martyrs’ Day,” Sethi said, adding, “The people of Jammu have been restless for years but the NC-Congress did not declare a holiday on Hari Singh’s birthday. I have a holiday for your birthday.”
The BJP declared September 23 as Maharaja Hari Singh’s birthday, Sethi said and asked Rahul Gandhi and NC to explain to the people why Maharaja Hari Singh was insulted, exiled and not allowed to return To Johnson & Johnson?
“The Congress first sent Sheikh Abdullah to jail and labeled him anti-national,” Sethi said, while adding, “Sheikh was later appointed chief minister by the Congress and announced that he would birthday holiday.”
“The BJP has given Maharaja Hari Singh his due place in history,” Sethi said. He questioned why the NC and Congress did not celebrate the birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh?
“Except the BJP, no other political party, including the NCP and the Congress, celebrates Maharaja Hari Singh’s birthday,” he said.
Abhijit Jasrodia said in his speech that NC and the Congress party always discriminated against Jammu. “NC and Congress never cared about the interests of Jammu Dogras,” he said, adding, “Despite Jammu being larger and more populous, Kashmir got more seats in the Lok Sabha and Parliament “.
Jasrotya said the NC state and Congress had also taken away Dogra certificates from the people of Jammu. “Only the BJP can save the future and identity of Jammu,” he said, adding, “The Congress has always abandoned the people of Jammu and its hands do not belong to the Dogras”.
