U.S. President Joe Biden said in his speech to the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday that people around the world are choosing their future through peaceful elections. Biden said only three countries with a quarter of the population, from Ghana to India and South Korea, had successfully held elections this year.
The United States is about to hold an election this year, with only one month left. However, Biden is not the candidate in this election. He wanted to stand in the election but had to withdraw his name due to discord within the party.

Biden calls successful election unique
Biden praised other countries, including India, and called the successful election unique. He said that since I was elected to the Senate in 1972, I have become more optimistic about the future strength of “we the people.” What he means is that people around the world are using their own power to peacefully determine their own futures.
Prime Minister Modi delivers speech at Future Summit
Recently, India held general elections in seven phases. The Bharatiya Janata Party failed to gain a majority of seats, but Modi was successfully elected as prime minister for the third consecutive time in history. 650 million voters cast their ballots in this election. Prime Minister Modi is also visiting the United States. In his speech, Prime Minister Modi called for reforms in global institutions to promote global peace.
At the Future Summit, Prime Minister Modi said, “On behalf of India, the largest democracy and the 1.4 billion people of India, I send greetings to all of you. In the largest election in human history recently held in June, the people of India elected I am “given the opportunity to serve for life” for the third term in a row.

Erdogan: UN system is dying in Gaza too
Turkish President Erdogan also expressed his views at the UN General Assembly. He said the values of the Western world were being murdered in Gaza. The Israeli government ignores basic human rights. We stand with the Lebanese people who are being targeted by Israel. In Gaza, not only children but the United Nations system are dying. Israel must be stopped through a human alliance.
